I just got a friend request on Facebook.
FROM MY MOM
Oh geezus fuck what do I do...
In other news, Dragon Age: Origins is fucking awesome.
ASSCHABS
Traveler achievement can kiss my ass.
Can't wait for Left 4 Dead 2
Need to (finally) max out my Borderlands character cuz that's the only achievement I've left to get.
My legs are sore as fuck from dancing at Tonic last night.
Does this mean I'm getting old?
The guy who owns the house returns home tomorrow, boo-urns.
I'll be working at Cafe Sushi every Sunday, they currently have a deal where you get 20% off sushi if you order one of the $6.99 appetizers, go there.
That is all.

So yeah, think I'll type stuff on the el jay tonight.
Man where to start... Well it feels good to actually be doing shit aside from work/Xbox/sleep, even if they're typically after work and shit.
3 weeks ago on Saturday night me and some work peeps went to this bar in Farmington Hills to celebrate a co-worker's 21st B-day. He was kinda goody-goody and like 99% straight-edge but we managed to get him to drink a beer and a couple of shots, me on the other hand I don't remember how much I drank, several beers and a shot? What I like about my co-workers, once they get drunk they start to buy all the booze, I hardly have to spend a cent... Should I feel bad about it...? Hell no, I'm Chinese.
So every Saturday this bar has karaoke, and at first I was like "no way I'm singing in this redneck bar in front of my co-workers"... ... ...Several drinks later, I stumble my ass up to the stage and dedicate the song to the birthday boy... I sang "Just a Gigolo" by David Lee Roth. One of my greatest jams, and those who've seen me karaoke, know I'm pretty damn good at it. I pretty much tore the roof off the place (or so my co-workers told me, I don't remember shit). Several of them said my rendition of Just a Gigolo was one of the greatest things they ever saw at the bar.
FAST FORWARD to last Saturday. Another co-worker (Lexy's sister, Kelly) was celebrating her B-day at the same bar. Kelly's really cool and she wanted me to sing something for her... So I sang Rick James' Superfreak. Once again, blew the roof off the place. This other dude I worked with got super hammered, he started yelling "NICK LAU DOT COM! NICK LAU DOT COM!" and it's since then been a new saying at work. Oh yeah, while someone else was singing (not sure what song, I was pretty fucking gone after multiple beers/shots), some hot girl was dancing by herself in the empty area in front of the karaoke stand. He said "Hey Nick, I'll give you $10 to go dance with that girl". Well being the drunken chink that I was I instantly jumped off my bar stool and started to freak with this girl, and the interesting part was, she got into it, probably as drunk as I was. So I got back and he gives me $10, then the next song plays and this girl is dancing again and he says "Hey Nick, I'll give you $20 to do it again". Of course, I once again go freak this girl. It was funny, then I danced with Kelly and her friends and generally had a stupid drunken good time AND I made some side cash. And despite this, still made it home safe (obviously since I'm sitting here typing shit right now).
The next day I went to Red Biscuits with Sharii. It was fun to hang out with her, found out she never heard the innuendo "carpets matching the drapes" which I thought was very odd cuz it's a pretty old saying. The biscuits at Red Biscuits were still fucking epic. The first one I grabbed once the waiter put the basket down I stuffed completely into my mouth whole in one gulp, which gave Sharii a look which was a mix of "WTF" and "ROFL". I ordered this somewhat bland "Chef's Special Lobster and Shrimp Pasta" which sounded good on the menu but the sauce had no damn taste. I probably should've known better than to order pasta when my main intention was to eat biscuits, damn starchy noodles taking up precious biscuit space in Zimbabwe... Oh well... Then I went and bought underwear.
Rob's BBQ tonight was fun, granted I showed up at like 11:45 and was the last one there and most everyone was friggin' GOOOOOOOONE by the time I showed up. I really just went cuz there were specific people I wanted to see, most notably Amanda and Krystal, neither of whom I've seen in months. Got to see Arnell too which was cool cuz I won't be able to make his what's-going-to-be-mega-epic 30th B-day party next month, super bummed/pissed about that. :/
Don't get me wrong though, it really was fun, even after the cops showed up. Sucked to be Rob but eh, you know it's a good party when the cops show up... Plus he lives in fucking super-suburban white-power mega-Jew-land Birmingham, so really it didn't totally surprise me. We never got noise complaints for our NYE parties cuz Greg has very cool/tolerant neighbors. Saw Lauren there, that was quite the surprise given the way she left the last Rob party, but it's good that she went and had fun, I'm guessing alcohol played a part in it, cuz she was hammered off her arse when I got there. Met this new girl that Ben's going out with, she's quite the looker with a good attitude (she can tolerate our offensive discussions), go Ben go. I snagged a loaf of chocolate cherry bread from work and brought it to the party, it went over well, Amanda took the leftovers. Oh and I tea-bagged Eric again.
Me, Greg, and Bob had a discussion about what year our first NYE party was. I'm still saying it was 2001-2002 cuz in 2000-2001 I remember specifically that we spent that New Years Eve driving around downtown Pontiac looking for a place that I could get into, not being 21 yet. We failed. The year after was when I had the grand idea of throwing a party.
Hit up this little Coney Island with Rob, Amanda, and Arnell after the dust settled. The food was mediocre, I ordered a "spicy gyro" which was pretty much a gyro smothered in hot sauce, it was spicy good.
That's all I got really, hoping to go out with peeps more often cuz I sure as hell need it. Amanda and Krystal pointed out that I never go anywhere cuz I'm always broke, and I said "bullshit, it's cuz I work all the damn time". Now I just need to go out with this one new server from work that I've had my eye on lately.........................

First day of work after 8 days off = ARGH.
I mean, I was already in lazy mode to start with but changing half of my menu items tonight didn't make shit any better.
Throughout my time off I thought how nice it would be for a change of scenery, things are starting to get played out here in MI... I mean I love MI cuz it's my home state and after living in NY for 2 years I developed a strong sense of home state pride but at the same time I really need a change of scenery here... Oh and my current social status in MI doesn't make shit here any better either.
But if I did move somewhere, it still wouldn't be for a while cuz of that huge money sink called Otakon, I need to save a good metric butt-ton of money first.
So the next question, if I moved, WHERE would I go... Three places come to mind, I think people have a good idea where.

Yeah I know, I said a long time ago that I was done doing *serious* cosplay but......
...As a fan of lucha libre, cooking, and SFIV I feel almost completely obligated to cosplay as El Fuerte.
 "Super Dynamic Cooking Time!"

And somehow I really like his alternate DLC outfit consisting of a chef coat, red neckerchief, toque, and wrestling tights/boots. Though if I do some working out and actually slim down my waistline a bit I could pull off his shirt-less default costume without feeling like a fat-ass exposing my beer gut to the world. Decisions decisions... Funny that the actual making of the costume is hardly a concern seeing that I know several people who could make it for me.

Back from Bmore. Geez it was an eventful few days, it definitely had its ups and downs... Events (in no special order) included:
Drove to Bmore in record time on no sleep, ate lots of delicious (and some expensive) food, made friends, lost friends, spent money, mocked nerds, got oggled by hotel cleaning ladies, paid out the ass for parking, sweat my ass off at the most overcrowded con dance EVER, felt major relief as I skipped out on the most overcrowded con dance EVER, had beers with an old CIA buddy, laughed as he said he's been late to work everyday because of "those fucking anime nerds", said "The Facebook" in a goofy Brazilian accent many times, waited 1.5 hours for my badge, regretted not getting a specific badge, changed my opinion about someone, had my first emo moment in 6 years, bought a loaf of bread, spent more in the dealers room than Lauren and Patty combined, had nobody recognize my cosplay cuz Urusei Yatsura is older than 80% of the people there (lolz), saw a kick-ass band, saw dozens of hot girls, saw hundreds of ugly ones, wished I could go home early, ate the fattiest meal EVER, ate nothing and only drank, heard a major burn, actually contemplated playing FFXIV, drove really fast, yelled at my dad's GPS, said good-bye to someone for the last time over the phone, wasted money, drank wine, got lied to by a website, got lied to by a person, saw a girl in her skivvies, made many phone calls, received very little phone calls, sent so many texts I thought I'd go over my limit, wished I was younger, wished I was older, laughed hard, hated life, loved life, photographed a boob salad, watched Haruhi, watched Family Guy, got sleep, didn't get sleep, strip-teased a group of girls, enjoyed the weather, helped a friend, took no pictures, had beggars ask me for money, had a con-goer ask me for money, played "Never Ever Have I", got the wallscroll I always wanted, recognized a Starcraft reference and felt like a nerd, had jaw drop at outrageous PVC figure prices, got denied tapas, saw Three's Company, banned Lauren from eating onion rings before a road trip, didn't ONCE go to the game room, worked as a delivery boy, quoted "The Critic" many times, got played like a fool, considered quitting my job, learned things I wanted to know, learned things I didn't want to know, waited 20 minutes for corned beef, drank burnt coffee, spent waaaaaaaaay more than he should have, visited Hard Rock Cafe, ate crabs, ate some pretty awful frozen yogurt, spent an afternoon with someone I've never talked to prior, felt less intelligent after watching 30 minutes of G4, got called awesome, got called gay, had an Asian lesbian buy me beer, traveled to a part of Baltimore that none of the otaku would go, drank at an awesome brewery, wanted to punch someone, formed Voltron, and drove home with no problems but a strange unfulfilled feeling.
So with this hard to read list of events behind me... ... ...I have no idea what to do the next 2 days with no work...
Top Quote of the Weekend: Random Otaku in crowded elevator: "I feel so tall in here, and I'm not even standing up straight" Anne: "Does that make your penis feel taller?"

One week till Otakon.
Researching nice restaurants in Baltimore.
Ordered shoes for Mendou cosplay.
Head nearly asploded while thinking of how much I'll be spending next week(end).
Work has been slow lately, hooray for post-holiday economic slump.
Dominated Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires in less than a week.
Slowly playing Infinite Undiscovery, very slowly, this game is boring to the point where I'm on the thin line between "play slowly" and "stop playing this game". At least it completed the "J-RPG Female Cast Trifecta" (1. Tomboyish love interest of the main hero. 2. The loli. 3. The sexy voluptuous one.)
BBQ on Sunday, featuring the "Return of the Impacto Burger".
Where did it go in the first place...? Uhm..........
I dunno?

Got back from NC last night, the trip had it's ups and downs but overall I enjoyed myself and (I think) Jeremy did too. I saw myself in 6 different states in the last 3 days.
Drove a pretty big Penske truck for about 16.5 hours the entire day/night, having awesome music and Jeremy to talk to in the truck really helped me survive. Having to drive the speed limit and sometimes below it was fail, for those who know my driving habits, you'll know how much it probably sucked for me... srsly my mom and her friend who were following us in my mom's VW Beetle were driving like friggin' grandmas.
This was my first time driving a long distance with a GPS in the car, I have to say they fucking kick ass. I like using mapquest and all but having a machine actually tell me where to go is pretty damn cool/handy.
Upon getting to NC me and Jeremy went to get food at this diner, oh man it was full of rednecks, we truly knew we were in the South. In the burger section of the menu it said "burgers cooked to medium-well and well ONLY"... Ugh... So I had a nice dry burger with soggy sweet potato fries and fried okra which was fuckin' AWESOME. Yeah sad how a (most-likely) frozen fried vegetable product beat out the two main items.
So the next day we had to unload my mom's belongings at my uncle's friend's beach house... Yeah apparently he's loaded and has this beach house to go to on the weekends. We also got to stay at this house... Holy shit this house was piiiiiiiimp... It had two floors with living rooms and bedrooms and several bathrooms and a big-ass deck with an awesome view of the lake and a dock. Needless to say I was pleased with the accommodations. He had a three car garage as well where we stored my mom's stuff until she could get her apartment at the end of the month.
Tuesday me and Jeremy went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. What a awesome time we had, first off because we found a mother-fuckin' SONIC. Yeah, that fast food place whose commercials constantly blue ball me... Well we stuffed ourselves silly on Double Sonic Burgers and Chili Cheese Tater-tots and Cherry Limeade. Great eatin'. Then we hit the beach and just chilled while checking out the fine ladies (and avoiding the ones that were not), the ocean kicked my ass. Then we hit up this boardwalk place that had Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and we wasted away there for a bit while enjoying that frozen concoction that helps me hang on. Yeah Myrtle Beach was definitely the highlight of the trip.
The next day we flew home, really not much to say there... Though it was pretty ironic that it was bright and sunny and warm when we left NC and upon landing in Detroit it was dark, gray, dreary, rainy, etc. Almost like Detroit was welcoming me home.
Anyway that's the jist of the trip, can't wait for Otakon to hang out with peeps and see her.

So next Friday (6/26) we're doing a special dinner with Chef Takashi Yagihashi who owns/runs Takashi Restaurant in Chicago to promote his new book Takashi's Noodles.
The significance of working with Chef Takashi? WELL... He was the first chef at Tribute Restaurant and was there for the grand opening AND he helped establish Tribute as one of the top restaurants in Michigan AND he does the most pimpin' awesome Japanese/French/Contemporary American fusion cuisine I've ever seen (key note: the kind of cuisine that I myself would like to master). The man rivals Morimoto IMO and it will certainly be an honor to work with him (even if he'll kick my ass all over the kitchen). I heard that we're all getting copies of his book as well, added bonus.
So yeah, it's gonna be a stressful night, full of pressure, there will be blood/sweat/tears/stabbings and it will be epic/awesome and I will love/hate every minute of it.

So Chef changed the menu... Again.
I'm guessing it's cuz of the approaching Summer season but damn it's like he just recently set the Spring menu. He changed three of my dishes... >.>;
The cool thing is one of my new dishes is a Sashimi Salad where Chef basically told me what he wanted to be on the salad but gave me creative freedom in how it's put together, I think he knows I have bad-ass Japanese food presentation skillz and actually trusts me to make it look awesome.
Another dish I have is a tempura-fried soft shell crab, quite a tasty dish, accompanied with a sesame-miso-honey vinaigrette and lotsa shredded veggies.
North Carolina in 2 weeks, rawr.

Weekend was coo. Friday night started off with me very pissed off cuz a few people made it very clear where I stand in the social hierarchy of Southeast Michigan... But a quadruple shot of Jameson and a Boddington's later I had forgotten about it.
Saturday after work I played Rock Band 2 at G-dawg's with the rest of the Oakstreet Posse all friggin' night and then we just chilled for a while talking about random shit. I have to say these dudes are truly my best friends nowadays. Afterwards it was a trip to the Original Pancake House for breakfast. I had the gigantic but oh-so-delicious crepe they call the Big German. Still my favorite thing there.
Monday I made Impacto Burgers for the first time in maybe 3 years, yes they're still epic and fucking awesome and make me fart a lot. What a classic treat to enjoy before making the decision I'm about to discuss...
.............................
I never in eleventy-billion years thought I'd say this but, I have to start watching what I eat... ...Or at least for the next 2 months/60 days/1440 hours.
Of course that for me will be difficult since 1) I heart fast food and 2) healthy food is more expensive 90% of the time and I'm a cheap-ass and 3) I'm too tired/lazy to cook after work.
I think to start I'm gonna stop drinking so much pop, I mean back before the CIA I lowered my pop-drinking to work-only (cuz at work I *NEED* the fucking caffeine, srsly don't even argue with me about it) but then I went back to school and jumped right back on the 4-5 cans per day habit. If anything I'll just buy cases of Dew and keep it in my work locker while leaving nothing at home.
As for not eating fast food, it'll be tough, cuz I'm a broke-ass and it's just so convenient. Yes I do understand that SOME places are making healthy alternatives but it's so friggin' expensive I'm better off making my own. Like lately I've been making these sandwiches that are a play on something I like at Jimmy Johns... Basically a hoagie roll slathered with guacamole, turkey, seasoned tomatoes, lettuce, and alfalfa sprouts. I need more ideas like this cuz I figured buying all of said ingredients is mad expensive but at least it makes multiple sammiches...?
...Oh yeah and it'd help if I went to the gym more than twice a week huh... >.>
What's my motivation? Otakon of course.
